...get disappointed when they have gone to bed for the night, but you want to feed them and praise them and do more things for them, but... you're an adult and respect their need for downtime and a stable routine and you want them to settle and trust you but.. you sort of hope they'll wake up and wheek for something so you can go in their room and quietly go, "squeeee! You are the cutest piggies in all piggledom except for my other piggies, may I fluff up your hay or offer you a snack?"
In a totally objective adult way of course :)

Hubby always tell me off for always checking on the new piggy whenever we have a new one. Like I want to let him/her know that I'm just around and waiting for some cuddle time! 🤣🤣

Little Frida just assured me that she isnt sleeping, she's racing round and round in a box of hay wheeking triumphantly and says she is planning on staying up all night now mummy and aunty have stpped treating her like a baby- she is after all 5 and a half wheeks old so practically a grown up!
Give it half an hour she'll be begging mummy and aunty to let her in bed with them because she's tired, bless her little ginger socks and sticky-up hamster style ears :)

She always had a mad half hour before settling down for the night here, too. Very reminiscent of the human toddlers refusing to go to bed, fighting sleep and then crashing out on the floor murmuring “I’m not sleepy”. But lovely to hear that she’s making her presence well known in the piggy room. I’m sure the neighbours will soon be telling her to pipe down and go to bed like a good ginger girl!

Never thought about the sleeping thing but I do give them more peaflakes than I should because they love me when I give them peaflakes and they let me stroke them when they have peaflakes and when they hear the peaflakes they run to me.

Lovely to hear the piggies are settling and you are behaving like a perfectly normal piggy slave :D
