I need something to cool down my sheds and my lovely herd of five are now shed guinea pigs ... I was wondering if anyone has used a solar powered fan?

The shed is insulated and has windows that open and a stable door.

They also have 3 cool pads.

What temperature is it in their shed? I’ve not used a solar fan but I’m wondering whether it may just make it worse And just blow hot air around?
My boys do live in my shed but I find it impossible to keep it cool in there - the thermometer is currently showing 39 degrees in their shed - so they no choice but to move indoors.

It hasnt gone above 28 degrees yet but I am worried that it may in the next few days. We have a spare room but I need to rent it out and the g pigs cant afford the rent! I waaay prefer having them inside but needs must.

🤣
I think you’ll just need to throw everything at it to keep it cool enough - perhaps more cool pads, have you tried the wet sheet over the windows trick? That has worked well in keeping my house cool today, worth trying in your shed I would have though. I’m not sure how well a solar fan will work - I can’t even get solar garden lights to work consistently!

it got to 37.5 degrees outside here today and my shed hit 42 degrees. Definitely way too hot for them to be in it. It’s cooled down now but the shed is still at 29 degrees so they arent going back out there tonight.

They have sheets over the windows and the door whichbhave really helped. Just ordered a thermometer to put out there.

I run 2 in "The Hutch" its 14 x 12 ft, they work well, have them fixed in the back wall 2ft apart. If you look in my tread "Its Here" you can see them, they cost £75. Worth it ,
