Does anyone have a trio of boys living together?
If yes how do they all get along any weakness within the group?
If no is a trio impossible?

i did have but you have to be careful that one doesnt get bullied, boars work best in pairs (i bought the bully a cage mate they get on great). its up to the pigs them selves it either will or it wont good luck :)

Yeah, they do work the best in pairs. I have successfully bonded three boars together and they live quite happily and don't fight, but I've heard that is quite unusual.

I have a trio at the moment and they seem to get along fine, i would keep an eye on them though. In my trio i have a very independent piggie who seems to prefer lying in the corner away from the others whereas the other two prefer to cuddle up together. I used to have four and Reaper (independent pig) was the same then aswell. Before i put them together i made sure they were roughly the same size that way they there wasn't really a weaker guinea pig for them to pick on.

The larger the cage i think the more successful you will be. Once i expanded my cage they seemed to get along much better as they had more space. It depends on the nature of all your piggies, sometimes they get along, sometimes no matter what you do they don't. Good luck! :)

A trio is possible but the key is space and lots of it :) Also good idea to provide 3 bowls, 3 water bottles etc spaced well apart to prevent squabbles over food etc.

Alot depends on the characters and temperaments of the boys concerned. If they're all fairly laid back then it will be easier. Obviously if there is a dominant male and the other 2 accept this then all should be well however, if 2 or 3 try to exert their dominance then it is likely you will run into difficulties.

If you rehome three baby boars, the chances are great that there will be a fall out during the stroppy months - the odds are very much against you.

While not impossible, most successful trios consist of boars with different ages or all adult boars. You need to have at least two submissive, laidback characters and lots of space.

I've a group of 6 boys whom get along fine - The king just keep them in place and they don't defy the king which is a good thing :)

I am wanting 3 or 2 boys to live together they will have a cage base and be free roam in a piggy room around 10ft by 6ft so plenty of room. It will be henry(adult) and the two boys Pigglet(3weeks) and Captain Jack Bumble(3days) so I will have to see how things work out:(|)

Trio's can work out but it just depends on each piggy. Like we sometimes don't like people so we stay away from them. Are you deciding to get a trio? If you are, keep a spare cage/ hutch and something to cover the fighting piggies (like a towel or something like that) in if they do fight. If you have a C&C cage then just keep a few spare grids to divide the victim piggy from the other piggies. Hope this helped :(|)!

I have three boars that get on brilliant they are all aged 4 and have been together two years. Jim and Joe lived together then Chocs joined them.

Not done a photo session since Xmas so here they are last Xmas.

Def echo what people have said about space, my boys free range my kitchen with a cage as their base that never gets closed so they get bags of space.

I love my boarsx)

I used to have 3 boars but eventually had to seperate them. They did appear to get on well initially but i think i made a mistake by putting them in the car with my girl herd to take them to boarding while we were on holiday. They were all seperate but i think the boys could smell the girls and they were never the same after that. But i do think it can work especially if they have lots of space to run around in. xx
