Just wondering what time of the year people put their guineas outside?
I know its been warm lately and mine have been indoors all winter in the spare bedroom but soon I will need my spare room as i foster kittens.

Just after what everyone else is up to!

I have an indoor pig so cant really help, but i would have thought that its still a bit early
The nights are still v cold

i have some indoor pigs that i will be putting in outside hutches soon, not just yet though because it's still quite chilly at night maybe in a few weeks time depending on the weather.

i was thinking the same, i might start to use the hutch now on the warmer days but still bring them in at night, then when it warms up (maybe May) they can stay in the hutch at night too.
owl x

I've had mine out in the run in the sunshine. But they always go back to their hutches in the shed at night.

Mine have had a few days in their hutch, and 1 night when i got back realy let.

We've had really cold nights between -2 and +4C but warm afternoons nearer 18C!

Same here :)

Before i had Trixie, Maisy and Boo, I had a boar called speedy, he was kept outside ALL year long, but being kept in the shed for winter!

Blast from the past! Hi Kiraroo! I can't wait for mine to go out - I am going to leave it a couple of weeks yet I think. They are getting day trips to the lawn on nice days though.

Duke's an indoor piggie, he can't go outside cause we haven't got grass, been way to dry and nothing left :o

But we're so glad all our UK piggie friends are able to go outside and popcorn and munch away, ahhhhh i remember the days when Duke (and Sully :'( )absolutely adored going outside in their cage it was super cute :-* :-*

yeah i know i've not been round much, when i lost Ro and Fon it was just to hard and i didnt want to talk about piggies. I tried with two new males but they fought so much I had to return them to the animal shelter as I dont have the room for 2 pigs seperately.

My girls are outside in the day when the weather is good and indoors still at night at the moment. I cant wait to get them outside, the fresh air must do them good

Mine have started playing outside during the day for a little while if its sunny and no chilly wind but i dont put mine out all the time during summer, my girls live in the shed in their big run and my boys in my room, i dont leave them out at night they go back into their houses :)

Mine go in the end of april. Start of may, I'm just waiting for the cold nights to clear really. O0

I have been putting mine out in the run on warmer days for just over a week now. They are in the house at night its way too cold at night yet for them in the hutch outside. I am going to get a hutch for the shed and get them used to cooler tempretures slowly.
I think middle/end of May it will be warm enough during the night for outdoor hutches. Damp days and nights should be few and far between too by then.

We should get some really lovely daytime weather the next few days but frosty at night so plan to let them out in the afternoons after the morning dew has evaporated. That's a long sentence - sorry! :)
