This is me approaching Milo's cage and patting him..

Does this behaviour seem concerning?

Does he usually just sit there like that when you approach? My Willow is a very calm piggy and does the same thing when I approach her cage and pat her, but if Milo usually acts differently then this behavior is not normal

I hope he feels better soon. I read about his cushings disease on your other thread.

I have stupidly laid back pigs (ask All About the Animals Claire!) and Jeff and Boxy don't bat an eyelid if you approach them (as long as you don't make them jump, and you aren't appearing with the promise of food!)

The main thing is, that as a Milo Mummy, you know his behaviours, quirks etc. so you're the best person to answer your own question. Has his behaviour changed? I'm thinking along the lines that it may be indicative of something, or you wouldn't have been concerned enough to make the post, but like I said, you're the best person to judge whether there's potentially something wrong.

Hello.
None of my pigs do that but it just depends on their personality. Is he usually like that? If he isn't it's not normal behaviour.

Did I really write that at 4.30am? I certainly don't remember doing it! It's very coherent for someone who was asleep!

Keithy was EXACTLY like that - he would just sit and not move and he would be so happy when you came to pick him up.

William is a bit skittish and does flap a bit, as does Alan but Clive is starting to be like that too just lay back and let mummy pick him up :)) :))

If it is a change in his behaviour then question it, but if he's done it since day dot then I wouldn't worry :)

My two boys Joe and Chocolate are like that i think its because they have been ill in the past and are so used to me picking them up with having to do meds and syringe feeds they are chillled.

My Squeak (sheltie) and Honey (coronet) are both very chilled and often just let me pick them up and fuss them.

Milos gorgx)

I think Lindsay might be right there. Dindy can be just like that, as you know she went through the same process when she came to us. But then again, Dindy being Dindy, she sometimes runs away laughing at me.
Milo may well be so used to you handleing him and picking him up that it just doesn't faze him anymore. He would brobably let you know if he wasn't in the mood to be picked up.

Bless he is very chilled. I have one like that.

If he's always done that then I wouldn’t worry, you just have a very relaxed (and gorgeous) pig x)

It's only is his behaviour suddenly changed that would be concerned.

I have a handful of pigs like that: Logan, Rosie, Tinkerbell, Bentley & Madison :)

All of the others run away unless you have foodrolleyes

I know how much you love him Joanne....... you know his every move and are keeping a strict eye on him.......... be vigilant, you've done so well with him XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

LOVES FOR YOU MILO FROM YOUR AUSSIE MATES XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Aww a video of Milo x)drool i hope he's ok Flintstones. My Dottie does this on and off, sometimes she runs away other times she lays there for a chin rub (although this is always if i approach the cage very slowly).

*please can we see more videos of Milo, i really do love him!"):red*

My little boy is very relaxed and is same as yours in the video plus we stroke him under the chin and he quite lkes it and lifts his head up.

If its not his usaul behaviour i'd be worried. But i have a few pigs like this. Just chilled and dont care. But some, especially my Ozzie, shoots straight into his bed as soon as i get up or come into the room.

x.

oliver is an extremely laid back piggie.. and even he would have popped his head up as i approached him...
was he dehydrated...?
is the room he was in hot...?
he seems strangly lathargic in my opinion....
is this new behaviour or is this the norm...?
is he old...?
can he walk...?
my hamster... (i know its not a pig...:) ) when she had a stroke was like this...
I'm not trying to scare you or anything...

Sweep was never phased by human contact, but she was poorly as a baby, so we had a very special bond. If Milo is always chilled out then I wouldn't worry. On the other hand, if he's usuall skittish then I would be more concerned.

Strangely, Rose LOVES cuddles, and used to WHEEK for attention after Wills died, but never sits still to be picked up.
