Hello

I have just noticed a bald patch on my pig, at the side of his face. Its dry and scabby , I am going to take him to the vets but I do not have much faith in their knowledge of guinea pigs so just wondered what anyone on here though it might be. He comes comes out for a play everyday and this is the first time I have noticed it - he is eating and drinking as usual, and seems happy enough jumping about in his run nibbling the grass. Any thought will be welcome - will be happier to take a few ideas with me when I go , thanks in advance.
cant see how i attach a pic , can anyone tell me?

It sounds very much like a fungal problem, potentially ringworm; fungal problems typically start on the face or ears.

If you find yourself dealing with ringworm, please use good hygiene and disinfect the cage with an antifungal disinfectant like F10. Ringworm is one of the few things that can jump species and affect humans and other pets.

perfect thanks that looks exactly like that - fore warned is forearmed thank you so much x
