Her eye has been like this for a little while, but she doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort.Does anyone know what’s wrong with her?

Anything to do with eyes needs to be seen by a vet. You really shouldn't leave eye problems. Velvet got some hay in her eye one morning which I thought I had gently removed. I still took her to the vet so he could check it. It turned out I had left the seed head in and it had started to embed into her eyelid which must have been very painful. Guinea pigs are very good at hiding pain and illness until it is too late to do anything about. My rule of thumb is if in doubt take to the vet.

Sorry but the photo didn’t upload. Eyes can deteriorate very quickly so at the first sign of any eye problem it’s a good idea to get the Vet to see the eye.

Welcome to the Forum @Sophisticated

Unfortunately we cant see the picture it's not uploaded, try uploading the image again directly from your device (upload file button =bottom right of screen) if you've done it through Photobucket or a third party page/or moved or deleted the file it might not work. Give it another go.

As the others have said it would be best to get her to the vets ASAP, as eye injuries spiral out of control & are prone to complications very quickly if not treated, but are usually sorted quite quickly, with full recovery if treated in time.

If the eye is red, its probably very painful & if its gone white/grey on the eyeball its probably ulcerated so will definitely need treatment ASAP

The vet will normally add an orange dye to the eye to show any damage, remove any foreign objects if seen & then prescribe a repair gel/drops to put in daily, usually within a week if all goes well the eye should be back to normal.

let us know how she gets on. xx
