Currently my piggies are on hay and newspaper but I'm thinking about using a nice thick layer of Medibed and then lots of hay on top. I would then be able to put this on the dung heap at the yard and would cut down on my waste.

Also my piggies feet are looking a bit sore so was wondering if the Medibed would absorb more moisture and it would sink down, away from their feet.

Does/has anyone use it? And what did you think? Are there any other similar bedding alternatives?

I use medibed! I like it and use it because it rots down easily and nicely.

You could try megazorb which is like carefresh but in large sacks. It soaks up pee well but it annoyed me so I switched to medibed

I did think about megazorb but it annoyed me too when we tried it on the horses! So don't think i would use it for piggies. How often do you clean it? Does it smell? And is it nice and soft?

I've ordered some from Griggs. Where do you buy yours?

I still clean mine twice a week just for hygiene really but then I have groups of pigs together so they need cleaning regularly.

It doesn't smell at all. I use a thick layer of it and it seems nice for the pigs. I have had some softer bales than others, but on the whole it's been ok. They like to 'forage' in it!

It's supposed to have a citrus flavour to prevent eating it but the pigs do tend to eat some of it rolleyes

I get mine from cornwall farmers!
