Hi all!
My 7 month old piggy Oscar doesn't seem to drink a lot of water, he does have a massive water bottle but I hardly see him drinking.

I don't know whether it's something I should be worried about or not? He seems happy and healthy but I do wanna make sure he's alright. My baby Guinea pig drinks more than he does which made me consider maybe he's not drinking a lot!

He may be drinking when I'm asleep but in the day time I'm quite often in sight of the cage I don't see him drink a lot!

Hello, I'm no expert but I thought I'd let you know that my two boys don't drink at all in the day when the in the run, they know it's there but put their noses up at it.at night when their in the cage I can hear them going at the water bottle, although it doesn't go down a lot really.

Does your waterbottle have measurements on the side? Use that to monitor how much he's drinking in 24 hours As it's coming into hotter weather mines are drinking a bit more than normal now

Ah at least it's not just mine! I'll keep an eye on him :) xx

Yeah both of the bottles do! Although I have two boys and one drinks a lot more than Oscar does, so I can never be sure who's drank from what bottle! But I see my little one jasper drinking all the time!
I'll try to keep an eye on him :) xx

I sometimes hear the bottle :) maybe I'm just over worrying! X

i always try and look when i hear the water bottles going to see who is having a drink ( i have 2 girls ).. i have 2 bottles and since last night ( thats when they get fresh water - every night ) 50ml has gone so far..

When I realised Toast was drinking far too much water I had to separate her from beans just for 24 hours to be certain of how much she was drinking. If you're worried you could do this just to be sure

:D If you are worried that your piggie isn't drinking enough, you could always give more watery veg, like cucumber. If you have long grass in your garden, cut some of that and soak it before feeding it to them. Some pigs naturally drink more than others.
Overtime, you will get to know who drinks how much. Then, if it changes, you will know if something is wrong. :tu:

take a marker and draw the line on where it comes up to youll be to see if it goes down or not and if not within a few days (3 or so) id go to a vet

Thank you! Since then I've noticed he drinks plenty so it's all fine, he drinks atleast 100ml a day if not more!
