It's been cold, rainy, and gloomy for a couple days and I noticed that the piggies are napping more. Is that due to the weather or are they just bored?

I don’t think the weather would impact them like that, maybe try getting them out for floor/lap time more often for now 🙂

My boys like to be outside on the grass but the weathers been bad down here too, so they are in the conservatory in their large playpen instead. They always popcorn around outside but rarely inside. They just mooch about looking for the next meal 🥘 or sleep in in their hideys. Try to put new things in to break the boredom and little treats of food to make their day a little more interesting, but I know they can’t wait for sunshine outside

I know that Primrose has been thrown out by the evenings getting darker earlier. When I got them it was getting dark around 6pm-ish and she associated it starting to get dark and the light going on with their veggie tea appearing; now it's getting dark around 4pm-ish so she wants her veg, but I have to tell her it's too early! Neither of mine like the sound of strong wind, it spooks them a bit.

Yes they are definitely expect their veggie teatime earlier now. Never mind after the 21st it will start getting lighter again by a few minutes per day 😀 can’t wait, I like to be outside too!

Mine are affected by weather changes even though they are indoors, I suspect it's the air pressure they feel, they hide away if it's windy. I am having problems with them since the clocks changed, they want breakfast at 5am and 4pm nuggets are being yelled for at 3pm. Roll on British Summer Time!

I wonder if they get that SAD syndrome like people do because of the lack of sunlight, my two are totally different piggies if they’ve been outside, even their fur feels different?

Mine were utterly outraged tonight at being put in the playpen at 6.30pm for a clean out (usually its a morning thing). There was actual chirping from boss lady, then a bit of a riot! 7pm is definitely night time in winter. Though somehow 3.46am when I was woken up yesterday with zooming around and wheeking isnt :) daft cavies with their clocks wrong!

I was quite surprised when we stayed in a hotel with Bill and Ted and had to share the room with them just how quiet they were. I was expecting to be woke up continuously (I’m a very light sleeper) but was amazed, they were very quiet and seemed to be asleep most of the time until about 7.00am. Never woke me up and I don’t really sleep that much anyway, they just chilled

Mine are very cross today as they know I'm working from home but they finished all the veg for breakfast so they'll have to wait until piggy daddy gets home with the shopping! I keep adding extra hay but they are wheeking with outrage at the lack of extra snacks. I might have to give them one of their edible xmas presents but I think they'll just look at it with contempt as it wont be the bag of spinach, rocket and watercress salad they demand every time I am home during the afternoon...

I can safely say that after the antics of the last week none of my boys are feeling sad with the change in weather. Quite the opposite actually!

I'll have to try that bag salad on my lot next time I go shopping as they have decided that I'm poisoning them with the bistro salad which has been popular for at least 6 months!
