I'm trying for a more detailed list of approved guinea pig vegetables for my blog, and also to print out for new owners that adopt guinea pigs from our shelter/rescue. Basically I'm looking to make an "Idiot Proof" list, as from my experience given a ginormous amount of information to people can be a little overwhelming vs a here this is how you do it and don't dissuade from it!

Daily:
Cilantro
Endive (Belgian, Curly)
Lettuce (Romaine, Green and Red Leaf)
Baby Carrots (1-2 per pig)
Peppers (Green, Yellow, Orange) - Sweet only!
Radicchio
Cherry Tomatos (1-2 per pig)
Zucchini

Every other Day:
Arugula
Dandelion Greens
Parsley (1-2 sprigs per pig)
Beans (Snap, Green - 1-2 per pig)
Celery
Cucumber
Podded Peas (1-2 per pig)
Squash

Once a Week:
Turnip Greens
Watercress
Asparagus
Beets
Corn on the Cob (1 med cob)
Small amount of fruit

I think that your list is great, but I would add parsley to the every day, or every other day. :san::agr::nod::san:

Look's good! I agree with the parsley :) I have a daily list rota on the fridge so I can remember what they have on a certain day :)

flutterby I would be interested to see your list rota? Also there is a very good section on here re food they can and cant have and how often. I don't know how to add the link. But its at top of page.

I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow but it's basically just a rota with Monday to Friday on. Each day has the every day staples that they need and then on a few days there are extra veggie and on 2 separate days there is fruit, it that helps? It just reminds me what I need to give/have already given and if I need to restock :)

Haha that's what I do! I give the every other day foods M/W/F, and then Thursday is fruit day. I need to delve into grasses, flowers, weeds etc that they can have and add those in for them to forage for (I want to hide them in their C&C)

I'd like to see your rota too. I'm afraid I make heavy weather of my guinea pigs menu and any help to make my life simpler would be greatly appreciated.

Bye the way - I would reduce tomatoes to once or twice a week only

No problem. I have found it quite useful. If I didn't have it i'd forget what they had on certain days and risk giving them too much of something and not enough of the other etc.
