Alice has started running round the cage like a mad thing! Crashing into the sides and all sorts. She's also scratching a bit too, does it sound like she's running because she is irritated?

Edited to add - Strangely, Florence isn't scratching at all..

Lemon scented woodshavings shouldn't do anything though the shavings could aggravate their chests. Sounds like shes most likely popcorning. Popcorning is more common on younger pigs though I still see my 4 year old do the odd popcorn, it means happiness and they do tend to bash themselves against things, jumping around etc.

Lice would be noticeable on them as they are small white wiggly things - easiest to see about the eyes usually. Mites can not be seen by us. They do scratch, as long as shes not constantly doing it. Look out for any bald patches from hair loss.

I wonder........How old is Alice?

My younger sows do "zoomies" when they come into season - all hell breaks lose as they rush round the cage, stop for 10 minutes and then repeat the process. This behaviour goes on for an hour or so until their huspigs start complaining that their sleep is being disturbed :))

She's about 8 weeks old.. ahh I hope she is in season cos I've started to wittle she's pregnant after reading about so many pregnant guineas from pets at home, she is drinking no end, eating a lot, seems to be piling on the weight... very active though! Just keeping an eye.. hopefully it's just me worrying..

Thankyou x
