I purchased a new skinny pig a month ago. This is my second skinny pig that i have owned. The new skinny pigs skin is a little red especially on the top of the neck, close to his ears. If i go near him, he immediatly runs up to my neck for attention, however if i pet him he jumps all over sometimes falling on his side. He will also try to bite my hand. He shakes his head quite often, and itches a bit, but has no signs of bites or a skin condition. I have bathed him once, but he still doesnt seem to want to be pet. He complains very loudly as well when i have tried to touch him.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I suggest making a Vet appointment ASAP for this little one. It could possible be mites which can cause a whole lot of problems, or it could be something fungal. A vet is the best place for him :)

I agree with getting him checked as it sounds like he is very sensitive. I would ask the vet for treatment with Ivermection by injection if possible rather than a spot on treatment due to skinnies having very sensitive skin anyway. The vet will also need to rule out fungal. Skinny pigs can be treated with Eniconazole as a dip if needed but it may be better to go for oral medication if fungal is diagnosed.
