Dog/cat metacam

We've currently got a pig here for bonding who is on metacam dog 1.5 mg/ml. The folks forgot to bring their metacam along - we only have the cat metacam here which is only 0.5 mg/ml.

So, piggy is currently on 0.3ml of metacam dog 1.5 mg/ml.
How much should she have if the cat metacam instead? In theory, the cat is 3 times weaker than the dog which would mean she would need 3 times the dose - but 0.9ml seems like waaaay too much! Any advice? x

You need to triple a dog metacam dose when you give the equivalent of cat metacam; it is a third of the dog strength.

It does seem a lot but luckily most piggies are metacam junkies lol
