Hope this is in the right bit!

My dog (toy poodle) has been eating the piggies poo as of late after finding out it's gold to her. Is it heathy for the dog? Could it help in nutrition, maybe? Searched this up multiple times before and have had answers saying it's fine, but would like advice from here. Sounds silly, but would bigger dogs be able to have more or does size not matter? As I'm typing, I have Ginny in my lap and my dog, Zeb, is waiting for him to do something. Thanks :D

I have no idea about nutrition etc but many dogs eat piggy poo.. Its been discussed a few times here hahah!

As soon as I drop any when cleaning Melfi starts Hoovering up... The fresher and wetter the better! :)

Maybe because of the hay and what not it is tasty to them? I have no idea...

Thanks! Do you think there should be a limit to how much they have? Either way, it's a help so I don't have to run for the tissue or bin every few minutes.

Any other opinions on this? :)

I will add.. Melfi has been doing this for nearly 2 years now and has never been ill nor has it seemed to affect her in any other negative way... afterall it is just hay/plant based roughage and water no?

We have two dogs that do this, I can't say it's ever occurred to me I just assumed it was completely normal. They don't eat masses, it might just be if I've had the piggies out and a few drop on the floor before I get chance to clean it up

Same here... Well there have been a few times where she managed to get her head into the bin bag thats half full in their room and eat a big amount ha.

Charlie gets REALLY excited when he knows that I'm putting the pigs to bed because he knows I'm going to move the runs. He LOVES piggy poop! (Just think second he's come in from his walk and legged it straight past me practically yelling POOOOOOO)

Its very normal behaviour for dogs to eat poo of most varieties, and it doesn't do them any harm. My Lab eats most types of poo, I have no issue with her eating herbivore poo but when she eats other dogs poo I struggle with that! Though again to them its normal, just disgusting to us!
On the plus side, she cleans up after the piggles when they've been out in their run.

Our chocolate lab LOVES piggie poo! We don't even bother to clean it up - once we've had the babies out for a visit we let him clean it up for us.
