Dolly and Duke - terrible fight :(

Well that's that. It's over. The fairytale has ended.

Duke and Dolly have had an almighty fight when they were in the neutral territory run. Duke was frisky, Dolly freaked right out and before you knew what was happening they were fighting like crazy. Dolly has about 10 scratches / puncture wounds. Duke seems unharmed but was very unhappy and making some funny scared noises I didn't hear before.

So that's that.

Duke does have options as Tess had 2 girls who can stay together and then she will need a cage friend. Maybe that will work out? We knew it was a long shot with Dolly - she's a diva through and through. I just hope she stays friends with Dotty - I don't want her to be lonely.

So it seems after all this time Duke is going to be up for rehoming along with Tess as a couple (provided they get on). so it's 4 weeks wait for him now before I can even try them.

What a shame.
 
Oh that is a shame. I feel bad for both of them and you.

Makes me wonder just how poor Dolly was treated in her former life in order for her to be bred from. :(

I hope you find Duke a lovely lady friend who will accept his wooings, and that Dolly and Dotty stay friends.

What a naughty piggie your Dolly Diva is. Sounds like she fared the worst though.

I thought Peppa Pig would be like that when she was paired with a boy, but apart from a bit of hen pecking when Simon get frisky, she gets along with him really well. Put them next to the other girls and her bad behaviour comes back, I did try them all together in the big run, but Peppa wasn't having any of it.
 
I am sorry - not every sow will accept a boar; especially not the uberdominant ones. It may take Dolly and Duke some time to settle down again.

Hoepfully, Tess will be more accommodating!
 
To be honest there is a part of me that's not surprised. After all her breeding and then 6 babies last time - I think she just wants peace!

I hope hope hope that she and Dotty settle down and I am sure that even if Tess isn't the one for Duke the lady for him will be out there somewhere and he can find a wonderful home with a lady by his side.
 
Does this mean that a boar and a sow cannot live together if they fight once?
 
Oh Lisa... I'm so sorry! Poor Duke who has waited so long and all, but you are right, considering Dolly's background it's no wonder she really wants her men safely behind bars...

I hope Dotty and Dolly can remain good friends!
 
They seem okay at the mo (Dolly and Dotty)

My house is Guinea Central at the mo! I have Tessie and her babies next to Duke in Dolly's old cage, then Dolly and Dotty are in a cage on my living room Coffee table and then Dickens is in the front room with Kipling. Another story there but Dickens is looking very unwell :(

My shed is being overhauled and is getting a 4 storey 4 x 2 C&C with seperate floors to house Tess and her babies when they are a bit older, then Duke next to them and hopefully Kipling and Dickens too although I think it will be Kipling and Tess's baby boys

But for now EVERY pig is in my house and none in the guinea pig shed! I have to remedy that soon I think!
 
Oh dear the second marriage to fail in as many days after Laura's two didn't get on either.
Come on piggies! Lets feel some love....
 
Oh Lisa that such a shame they didn't get on - Dolly the Diva had the worst of it by the sounds of it. I does make you wonder quite what she went through with the breeder. How old is Duke - I may have a girly suitable for him or would you rather wait for Tess to wean her brood and try them together?

Martha and Dinah are both doing well, Dinky Dinah has grown in confidence in the group - still doesn't want to be handled and I don't want to stress her out too much if there's babies in there. Martha's hair is starting to grow back now too and she's loving her grub so she's not looking so sad anymore.

I am going to wait and try him with Tessie once she's weaned. With my having odd numbers it may work out (Fingers crossed).

Great news about the girls. I am so pleased Dinah is getting her confidence and as for Martha - she needed some TLC and treatment I think. You're doing such a great job with them.

Is Dinah growing? I HOPE she's escaped the pregnancy!
 
Oh no Lisa, what's going on? Why won't these girls accept their Truly Beloveds? I don't get it! I'm so so sorry it's not worked out, it's such a disappointment but as you say, these boys have options.

I do see it's a bit more understandable with Dolly as she's really been through the mill and such piggie men have a lot to do with Dolly's experiences. But Dolly and Saffron are clearly in their own little league.

Now we need to know how the other group got on, who was it whose pigs were being paired up this week/last week too? I am kicking myself for forgetting. The boar was neutered one day before Kingslie. :red
 
I'm truly gutted for you, I read in work that they had a fight and I just couldn't believe it. I was really hoping this would be a happy Ever after for Dolly and Duke.

:(.

I can understand it with Dolly's previous experience, fingers crossed Bette isn't reading these threads though.
 
Am really sorry things haven't worked out. I hope Duke has his happy ever after with Tess and that Dolly is happy with Dotty.
 
Oh no :( Poor Duke after his patient waiting. And poor Dolly after, well, everything too :(

I hope that Dolly and Dotty remain close and that Tessie accepts Duke as her beloved


I amdit to getting a little nervous about all this pairing mullarky now :... (please girls be nice!)
 
I'm sorry it didn't work out. :( All we can hope now is that Duke will find his forever wifey and Dolly will remain friendly towards Dotty.

It was my Henry, we were going to have a triple wedding, you, Lisa and I :(

I'm so sad yours didn't work out :(
 
As soon as I saw you online I remembered Elle. Pleeeeeeeeeease tell us its going ok with Henry, Poppy and Maisie? I don't know about Lisa but I would hope one out of three weddings have gone well!
 
They have been together for about a week now and seem to be getting along reasonably well. He is still being a total sex-pest so the pee is flying and there is still the occasional snap from one of the girls, but when he is calm they are grand. I can't believe out of the 3 of us only one worked out so far :(

Well, Martha is gaining weight - but only very gradually so I'm hoping that means she's not pregnant at all - still a bit early to tell yet but very encouraging.

Dinky Dinah on the other hand is gaining weight rapidly, she is growing along with the weight gain but I'm fairly confident she is expecting. Weigh day is Thursday so I'll have more of an accurate idea by then. She's settled in with the group so well, she is utterly adorable when snuggled up with Lucy, it just melts your heart.

You can just see Dinah tucked in beside Lucy - she was fast asleep but opened her eyes when she heard the camera.

I think there's something in the air this week to cause all these bonding problems. I've had 3 single piggies visit this week for a new companion - none of them went home with a new friend. Even the pair that bonded intially fell out after 3 days together.

I have decided to offer Duke for adoption - I am hoping that he manages to find a home sooner. I'm scared that he'll wait for another month only to find that Tess hates him too.

He's on the website and will be going in R&R section later tonight.

He's so bored I can't leave him another month

If anyone is interested in adopting the handsome Dukle please let me know.

I am sorry for you - hopefully, Duke can find a lady who adores him quickly! So sorry I haven't got the space for a second group... :{

It shows you really want the best for him, though. I checked the webpage again, it really looks good and professional, like a place you can trust!
