We had to go away at short notice because of family illness, my friend had already said she would look after our piggies for holidays so she was happy to step in. We got a ferplast cage - the biggest they had at PAH to make it easier for her than coming to our house every day (they have a C&C here). Long story short(ish) when we picked them up there was a spot of blood on the bottom of the cage. One of them was also being treated for ringworm around his eye so I wondered if he'd knocked it but he seemed ok. My main thought was they'd maybe fought but we don't know for sure. Now they're home they are doing quite a lot of teeth clacking and squaring up to each other, one always seems to back down so far but should we be doing something? Does that sound serious?

They seem generally ok but this behaviour is different to how they were before we went away, they seemed to have bonded really nicely. Any reassurance or advice gratefully received

Thanks! That sounds like it is likely to be what's going on then, I think if we have to go away again I'll get my friend to come to ours and not have to move the piggies.

Boars always have to re-establish their hierarchy in new surroundings or after a change of territory, so you are bound to see dominance behaviour. Hopefully, it will settle down again soon! if your friend could look after your boys in their usual home, it would make things easier for them.
