Dominance Battle!

I have 2 boars who live together. We have one who is in charge however when we put them on the floor for exercise the other one tries to be in charge (climbing on him). Can different guinea pigs be the dominant one on different territories or is there always one in charge no matter what?

Mounting is very normal boar behaviour; boars can take turns with it. Any new territory requires a hiearchy reaffirmation. Your dominant boy does this via mounting, which counts as one of the mildest dominance behaviours. There is nothing you have to worry about; it is more of a way of saying "Hello, I'm here too!" if it is just a one off at the beginning of run time.
