Is it likely pigs can go through the dominance stage that usually hits them at 6-9 months after a year old?

Kenya and Callis have been together since birth I think and never so much as chattered at each other, they sleep together, cuddle, share food and generally best friends, they turned 1 year 6-8weeks old in July 2011... making them near 1 year 3 months old now and the last few days Kenya has been really chattering at Callis who doesn't understand as he's a bit special and he sometimes chatters back but mainly just tries to give Kenya a hug and Kenya stays his distance or chases Callis.

I'm not going to worry yet I just would be a bit heartbroken if my two babies decided they'd had enough of each other. I think it started after we had them out on the floor last week, they were fine on the floor and then I put them back in the cage and a while later Kenya started chattering at Callis.

I'm going to look at the sticky about it as I know it's very very mild right now but just wondered if anyone had any experience of pigs that have been together since very young fighting AFTER the hormonal stage in their lives?

No replies after 4 days? :S

I just want to know if it's normal for them to do it after the 'hormonal state' or perhaps the hormonal stage doesn't finish that quickly?

i would say its normal, if the girl is going through a strong season.

i have 3 girls and a boy(neutered) together and the past month one girl has had teeth chattering and chasing fights with the other 2 girls. they've lived togeter over a year and the girl causing them is about 18 months old.

I have all male, but I think you're right. I bought them a nesting ball so they both have a place to sleep when not happy with each other. x
