A year ago today I rescued my Beautiful Angel Dom and seeing that it's such a special day I thought I'd give him a special birthday surprise, I brought him 2 new fleeces and an extra premium plush fleece for the cosy cave, on top of that I made a hay den at the bottom of their cage. Once I finished this it was time for some lap time birthday hugs and kisses with some fresh coriander, but Dom wasn't excited, he didn't eat his coriander and didn't purr or wheek whenI massaged him, he was so quiet and motionless, on top of that he just want to be on his own I tried him with cucumber and he just turned his back, I'm feeling worried and scared at the moment :(

Okay man, don't worry. When did you last weigh him? Is he pooing okay? Check his weight tonight from his last weigh.

Once he is back home pop a little coriander in see if he eats it, maybe he was spooked.

If not vets check needed. Montior his poo output to rule out bloat.

will keep popping back on thread tonight.

If he takes coriander check he is chewing okay also. More info you can find out the better will help give the vet direction on any problems if there is one.

Thank you very much @sport_billy, I weight him 01/01/2016 and he was 1163g Today 22/10/2016 he was 1152g however my scales are digital kitchen scales and not ideal as It all comes down to positioning of the boys, I will buy one with the bowl in the top tomorrow, I also weigh Tubby and just to show how inaccurate they can be he's gone up 71g in two weeks.

I will put some coriander in after i have written this. Dom's still poos a very lot they are different to Tubbys. I see Dom at the veggie bowel each morning at 4am when I prepare it for them and he was there this morning as usual eating away.

Dom does have white chalky Pee at times, but not like before as I have cut out carrot, parsley and Oxbow AlfAlfa so the chalky Pee is significantly less, the pee does leave light brown/yellow patches on the towels though.

I did notice a small red mark around the veggie bowl, it was smaller than a screw head, I rubbed a piece of the red pepper from his bowl on the fleece to see what happens and the pepper made the fleece red like the mark I found, but I'm not totally convinced it was the red pepper.

Dom just turned his nose up at Coriander, green beans and cucumber, I'll be on the phone to the vets tomorrow!

I think you're right to call the vets. Are you able to syringe feed him with some mushed up pellets and water if he's not eating?

Is he eating hay, as if he's not I would recommend syringe feeding him to keep his guts going.

I picked Dom up on the baby monitor this morning having a go at eating some biscuits and now he is laying down in his hay den eating some hay, so I'm delighted to see this. Neither Tubby or Dom is entertaining the salad this morning, I've ordered some Oxbow critical care which will come tomorrow and I'll have a read of the forum to see if I need anything else on standby. I'm will call the vet this morning to see when I can get him checked over, maybe an Ex-ray may be needed.

Thank you all for your support and comments, I am forever greatful.

I'm glad things sound promising - but think you are wise to get them checked by a vet.

what pellets do you use ? I know science selective mix with water to make a syringeable paste.

I've managed to get an appointment for Dom straight after I finish work at 3pm, doesn't leave me to much time to prepare any additional questions, but I'm greatful he will be seen, I'm thinking he needs to be x-rayed.

Most pellets mash to some extent. Even the big grainless ones I use. Good luck at the vets I hope they can get to the bottom of what's wrong.

Thank you Helen, I'm expecting some Oxbow critical care to turn up tomorrow and I need to look for anything else I should stock up on for future emergencies, any recommendations would be appreciate.

THE GOOD NEWS, I've rushed home from work to find Dom chomping at the biscuit bowl, eating in the hay den and drinking water  massive relief, BUT I will still take him to the vet to be looked at today, I would like to know he has no sludge or stones causing him issues as this worries me a great deal :(

We will move to the H & I section for you... x

I have returned from the vets with Dom, the vet gave him a thorough check over including feeling for stones in his belly and looking in his mouth to check his teeth with a contraption of some sort, along with asking lots of questions. He said he cannot find anything wrong with Dom and he is happy with the answers I have given him to his questions. He said Dom looks well, but to keep an eye on him to check he's eating and drinking well and not in any discomfort, and if he is I should take him back.

Dom does seem allot better than yesterday and this morning, fingers crossed he was just having a bad day.
