Hi everyone I have woke up this morning and reality is hitting me. Squirrel has not moved properly for 5 weeks now . She is not eating and seams in pain now and then.
I don't know what to do?
I keep thinking she will get better but to be honest she is the same everyday. Yesterday she walked a little which was good . But she has not eat any hay or food or drank water on her own for a while now.
I tried to feed her this morning syringe and she was fighting and getting more stressed.
So I have left her for a while . I am bathing her feet every morning drying them putting cream on them.
I feel bad for thinking this but do you think its cruel keeping her alive the way she is.
She is not improving 8...

It's such a difficult and heartbreaking choice to make but you need to think about it in terms of her quality of life. Does her enjoyment outweigh her discomfort? Don't feel bad, often the kindest thing we can do for our pets is to help them on their way, when they need us to. Squirrel will have a way of telling you when she is ready to go, you just gotta be brave and do it for her x

I am so sorry that your little girl is not improving. Have you asked the vet their opinion on what to do? You are making the hardest decision there is. I have had to make this too. It is awful to see them in pain and suffering. I know you love her with all your heart so you will do what is right by her.

I have just come back from vet with some better cream for her feet. But she has lost weight and is still not eating a great deal.I am going to give her till friday .I know I'm asking miracles but fingers crossed for her.
She is on pain relief and is by the fire so nice and warm. I pray she will be ok :(

awww its a horrible decision, only you can make it, i dont envy you.

Fingers crossed for your miracle, thinking of you xx

((HUGS))- I'm so sorry you are faced with this decision. I've been there too, and it's hard. I always try to go by quality of life- can they do the things they've always enjoyed? I can say that in the cases where I did have to have a pet PTS because of chronic illness/general decline, when the time had come I knew it had come and that I was doing the best thing for them, even though it still broke my heart to have to do it.

I am sorry. You will know when she is unhappy and it is time for her to cross the bridge...sorry you are having to think about this
