So a few weeks ago I took my guinea pig to the vet to check for mites or ringworm, because he was missing a good bit of fur down his spin at the bottom of his body, but the vet said he had nothing wrong with him and gave me some cream, but it doesn’t look like it is working and I got another guinea pig a few weeks ago and they haven’t been introduced and I hate them being alone without each other.

Hi and welcome

What kind of cream did you get (brand name)? Have you checked whether it could be a mechanical abrasion from somewhere in the cage? It is a rather unual pattern. Definitely not ringworm, though. Has it got worse or better or stayed the same with the cream?

Since we have members from all over the world, we find it very helpful if you please added your country, state/province or UK county to your details so we can adjust any advice to what is relevent and available where you are. Please click on your username on the top bar, then go to account details and down to location. This makes it appear with every post you make. Brand names, climate, ways of keeping guinea pigs, vet and rescue access can vary enormously and will influence any recommendations we make.
Thank you!
