My two lone boars seem happy enough but I'm all too aware that they like company. Well to put a long story short I've just bathed them both and tried to bond them, unfortunately it seems their personalities really don't match and within two seconds Clive was teeth chattering and being quite aggressive because Wigner was trying to be dominant, in the end I've had to separate them and now I don't know what to do! Is it possible that they are happy on their own? as I really don't see any more options and I love them both to bits.

If you can't keep them together maybe finding them a friedn each is an option?

Helen @ The Potteries in Stoke is great and can advise on bonding your boys with a new boar friend. She's dated my boys for me before and she's great.

Your other option is to get them neutered and find them Wifey pigs. In your area again Helen can advise and Walsall RSPCA also have piggies needing homes.

Thanks for the advice but I've seen Helen before and that didn't work out for one reason or another. I was thinking about wifey pigs but would that set my bonded boar pair off and make them fight? Kevin and Richie live in the same room you see and I'd hate for them to fall out.

My boars took over 3months of growling and dominance displays! But now they are best friends and are upset when they can't see each other!

can you split thier cage into 2 by using a wooden framed wire divider, this way they can see, smell and touch noses but not do any damage to each other.

No problem. Walsall is probably your next best bet then...

I have two pairs of bonded boars and they live happily together even when in the presence of females, when they go to their piggy hotel for holidays so I shouldn't think it would be a problem...

The main things to reduce the chances of it being a problem would be making sure you wash hands between handling the girls and the bonded boys and by them each having their own stuff so there isn't too much girly smell around for them to fight over!

Just make sure you wait the 6 weeks after neutering before wife introductions to avoid any furry little accidents!

My boys are fine around girls although I do not mix toys/accessories between the boys and girls and always put boys in the run first/handle boys first.
The boys have had rough patches together when I've accidently put something that smells of girls near them.

Thank you everyone. I'll look into Walsall and then if I have to I'll see about neutering. They don't share toys anyway so that shouldn't be an issue.
