well basically for about a month now patch and nala have been outside, i have sat outside and watched then eat and drink so i know there doing that, but my problem is....

patch is loosing weight rapidly, I'm going to try and get him in vets asap but it depends on my wages, but what can i do to help till he goes :( i can feel hes bones but ive watched him and hes been eating a drinkin.. is it just because hes gettin old :(

There is a good likelihood that his back teeth are overgrown; they often are on older piggies. You may see him eat, but he is not eating enough and is slowly starving to death.
My last neutered boar had weight loss episodes and then a big weight loss due to a tumor in his belly. Unfortunately, weight loss is something you need to act quickly; you can't wait and see if you want your piggy to make a recovery.

Please have him checked by a piggy savvy vet. There are many other causes for a piggy losing weight.

Until then you can soak hay based pellets in a bit of warm water and syringe that to prevent his weight going down further. It would also be good if you dissolved 1/8 of a vitamin C tablet in the mix. Weigh him daily to make sure that he is not losing any more weight - he sounds VERY thin.
Here are more tips for hand feeding, including quantities:

PS: Could you set aside a certain affordable sum every week for medical problems in order not to be out of money for a vet? Emergencies always happen at an inconvenient time in my experience!
