I love the smell of the guinea pigs fur! :smitten: :smitten: It had been about 8 years since i had a guinea pig last and when i smelt them i was like "aaahhh :) I missed that smell!" Some of you probably think I'm nuts, most of you wont :D

I totally agree - they have such a unique scent and I don't think it's just the hay either as bunnies and other critters don't smell the same. For me too it was 8 years of no piggies and when I got my little boar last October I just went into raptures over his smell!

I was just saying to my friend the other day that my GP`s don`t smell. He smelt them and agreed. For some reason hamsters have a little smell though.

The smell upon entering a GP`s area is of hay and their dropping and pee. Mine are always pruning themselves.

Sooo, I'm not alone ! Is this GPSA (Guinea pig sniffers anonymous) I ADORE the smell of guineapigs, they smell clean, fresh, furry and hay-ish. If I have been stroking them I even smell my hand after I've out them back into their cage, because the smell is so strong on my hands - I often put my hand to my daughter's face and she says 'Mmmmmm, guineas! :)' It is the loveliest smell, kind of comforting, soft and sweet.

I just got them out and I realised that they smell kind of warm, even though thats impossible 98)
Am I going crazy? :D

ooh I'm glad I'm not the only one who sniffs their piggies! My truffles who is a long haired piggie smells of hay - i love just holding him and sniffing his long fur! ;D

now just to be pedantic how can something smell warm? I had a really warm toilet session this morning :D lol
Si

Can agree on the horse smell, I have 1 of my own and look after 3 others- i think I'm going slightly mad 98) Havent sniffed the piggies yet but will give them a sniff today ;D ;D ;D
