I thought l was all over this


I recantly lost my sweet boar Hoover and l just woke up in a cold
Sweat, disorentated and very frightend !

I know it affects people in differant ways, but loosing a guinea pig can be a very tramatic
Expreance .
May not be a good ider to go it alone ! Talk to somone , face up to your loss :hug:
 
Funnily enough I woke up this morning in tears (and am still a bit tearful) over the loss of our old lady Mrs Fudge earlier this year. They aren't pets. They are family members and I feel their loss for ages. Know exactly what you mean @gizzy
 
I'm so sorry for both of your losses. For a while after Floss died a very sudden death, I would often have dreams about her. :( Scruff's death hasn't been as traumatic for me, I think because it happened very gradually, whereas Floss passed within a few days. I miss them both so much, it would be so lovely to have them back again.
 
Losing much loved pets affects us as much, if not more sometimes, as losing a human relative/friend. The grieving process evokes incredibly powerful emotions in both conscious and subconcious levels, which explains vivid dreams we might have.
Telling ourselves to 'pull ourselves together', 'get over it' etc. is bad. Anybody else saying that sort of thing to us face to face does not understand what we are going through. I send big hugs to everybody remembering their pets who have gone to the rainbow bridge.
 
Yes greff is a powerfull thing, it afects my sleep quite severly :no:
 
It's very true. We don't grieve them any less because they aren't human beings. I'm coming up to Linney's birthday (she passed last January) and finding it hard. I miss her a lot still.
 
It can hit you at any time - still find myself crying out of nowhere for Nuggets and Noodles.
