I had posted earlier that Linney had three nosebleeds in three weeks. The vet saw her, but really couldn't tell us much. She didn't see any other signs of illness, but did say that at 5 years and 8 months she is an older pig and a tumor or malignancy was not out of the question. However, a month later she has had no more nosebleeds, is happy, active, has gained a few ounces (as she tends to do in the summer at the cottage- more time grazing outside and my mom is a sucker for a cute piggy and gives her lots of treats!) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it was a benign polyp or a hay poke that kept on getting irritated and bleeding again. I keep thinking that if she had a malignancy somewhere in her nasal passages, that we would have seen more bleeding and more deterioration in terms of weight and behaviour by now. Fingers crossed for her, I realize she is on the older side but nothing would make me happier than having her around for another year or two!
