You can buy cystease from pets at home but it’s expensive both at pets at home (about £12 for 30) and at the vets. It was my vet who recommended I buy it online to save money.

But like @Veggies Galore says, speak to your vet first. It won’t harm though as like I said, it’s only a supplement.

I used to buy mine from here as got 100 for £19 plus £2.99 p&p https://www.doolittlesdispensary.com/products/search_results/Cystease

Just another question. Is cystease something that has to build up over time to work? I'm buying it tonight hopefully.

Ive called the vets and the receptionist will just not let me speak to the vets and i cant take dot in this week because of work. If it comes to it i do have a 24/7 vets that have a vet experienced with guinea pigs. Just not as good as simon but they are more convenient. 5 minute drive and open all night

I started off I half a capsule and worked my way upto a full capsule but that was mainly see if they benefitted more by having half or having full @helen105281 may be able to advise better than me

Going to get the cystease in a moment. Today has been the same as yesterday. No activity during the night. Alot of evidence of daytime grazing, but no nuggets touched again. Just got home and shes going crazy for veg. She seems to be in sync with burnie like a mirror image lol

I only used to give one tablet per day per pig. I don’t think you need two unless that’s what your vet recommends?

I used to mix mine in advance and store in the fridge so I would mix 4 tablets with 4ml of water and keep in the fridge in an unused tablet bottle or something but you don’t have to.

You split the tablet in half, empty out the powder and put the powder in the 1ml water and then suck it up in the syringe if you know what I mean

Sweet, yea i have used the same method with some buscopan before. Worked a treat. Thankyou so much for this. Il only do 1 tablet a day

Dots matching cystitis symptoms pretty much exact. Ive been reading everywhere about it. I will email simon tho

Forgot to mention dot has gained weight today . From 945g to 975g. Shes a small girl anyway hense dot. Her biggest ever was about 1050g. Shes active at the mo which is nice. And her sides are now less swollen. Its like something flares up then settles. It gave me a pregnancy scare the other day. What a nighmare lol

He won't mind and will answer, but he's busy, so it may not be immediate. Didn't the receptionist offer to speak to him on your behalf?
No. She didnt, they have before though. I just dont understand dot she is ok in the daytime then from when i go bed at about 11pm she just sits there until the morning. But also isnt losing weight or if she does she gains it again.

Simon said when she first got xrays that theres a very tiny chance its bladder cancer she has, but i think she would have passed by now if it was. I'm not sure. I'm hoping this cystease may help any discomfort along with the loxicom

It sounds to me like she's bored. Maybe while you're about watching her and getting her out, she is active, but then overnight she just sits in one place because there is nothing happening. I have seen this with lone piggies a lot.
Yea i think that aswell to a degree, but no one is in during the day from 8 - 5 and she has been active in those times. She also just sat in her hidey for an hour on floor time last night. I could see her eyes squinting to do poos. Something to do with that bladder growth and her pooing is hurting her. But its on and off.

Pairing her with burnie soon will be a big help though for her and il be able to wipe the lonely problem out once and for all.

Seems like there are mixed problems overlapping other problems, and its confusing me. Which is causing me to type confusing stuff on here lol. Il see how she is when i get in at 6. I'm on the way home

Shes been normal tonight. Scoffing burgess nuggets and hay. Gave another cystease, but I'm finding it hard to get it to mix with water, its lumpy.

Weights gone up too

@Skypipdot When you need to reorder try Cystassist instead. You can get it from Amazon and it's much cheaper than Cystease. I hate Cystease because it doesn't mix, but Cystassist does.

I used Cystassist for one of my boys and both Simon and Kim were fine with me using that instead. I even took in the bottle for them to check just to be sure it wasn't missing any ingredients.

Nice one. I love this forum lol. Il use what i have up then get onto this. Thanks again. Just realised i didnt say thankyou before .

Il screenshot this for later use

I just want to reinforce the importance of vetinary supervision when treating animals.

I'm not sure if cystease is similar to mix as cystophan. My guinea pig is on cystophan. I have found the easiest way to mix cystophan is to use a Metacam syringe connected to a 2 ml luer lock syringe. Take the plunger out of the Metacam stringe, empty the contents of a cystease capsule in... Replace plunger. Fill 2ml syringe with 1 - 1.5 mls water. Connect 2ml syringe to metacam syringe. Mix.

I have got all of each cystease tablet in. Its just taking me 2ml of water to get it all. Il start making in advance and let it sit
