Hi,
I have had my Guinea for almost 3 weeks now and she isn't really a noisy Guinea Pig, she's the first I've ever owned but having interacted with my families GPs in the past, they were more vocal. Here is a link to a video I took of her last night, after a while of being handled, she squeaks a tiny bit and I just want to make sure it's a positive squeak...

The only other noise that she makes (as mentioned in my last post) is the random 'purring' when she is in her cage.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks :)

Hi!

Not all piggies are equally vocal and loud. You just have a quiet one, who is OK in herself. Distress is usually expressed in the speed, volume and tone of the squeaks. Your girl has a very relaxed little 'everything is fine' chatter.

Is she currently your only piggy or is she with your other piggies? tTat is not quite clear.

Thank you for replying, yes she is. I'm not sure if you remember but you commented on my last post (and I explained that the pet store reccomended against it). However following your advice, getting another is definitely something I am going to consider soon. I'm going to visit the store and ask what exactly happened when they tried to mix her and see what they can advise. The only issue is that I would have to buy a bigger cage so it needs a lot of thought into it!
Thanks again :)

Sorry if I have offended you, but please be aware that I am moderating in my free time for free, and that I still have to hold down a job (which is currently in its manic state), look after my own ca. 30 guinea pigs and my own family and social life.
Please keep in mind that we mods are jumping between all kinds of threads a lot just in one day. After literally thousands of threads and different piggies after a decade of doing this many of which never come back, my memory has kind of stopped keeping all the details of everything in mind all the time and always making any necessary connections.

Oh no not at all, sorry if it came across that way! No, I genuinely appreciate the help! Just I have learnt since getting my guinea that under no circumstances should they live alone, despite what the pet store said so I feel a little overwhelmed and slightly guilty that she is alone! However, there just isn't much I can do about it, so I'm not really sure what to do as I just want her to be happy and healthy! Thank you again and sorry if I came across rude, that wasn't my intention, as mentioned before...any help is appreciated! :)

I have a quiet little girl Luna who never even wheeks for food. Her sister Ginny however is so loud I think Luna decides not to bother joining in lol.
