I made a fleece blanket into a sleeping bag for my adopted boar, Dougall, to give him somewhere to snuggle up. He has been with me for about a month and up till now, he has been sitting on top of the bag. Today he discovered he can actually get inside it! I'm so pleased :yahoo:, he looks so cosy in there!

Yay! :yahoo:
Cosy piggy

I got a fleece pet blanket, around 110cm x 60cm, folded it in half and then in half the other way, used blanket stitch along the bottom and up the side, then i put a piece of stiff plastic around the top (cut from a large plastic bottle, so i can wash the bag and it should still keep its shape) and rolled the top hem down around it, to keep the entrance open, and stiched round the rolled down hem, to make sure the plastic was wrapped up and not visible. Have attached a before and after photo, hope that makes sense?

I am so proud of him, he has settled in so well, and seems to find his way around despite not being able to see - vet thinks he can only see shadows out his left eye, and nothing at all from his right. He is understandably nervous whenever things move or new things appear in his pen, but explores them and starts using them quickly. As soon as we have got rid of the mites, I am going to start looking for a friend for him, I'm pretty sure he will be able to cope with it, and it will make him an even happier piggy.

Well done Dougall! Strange how I can't read that name without thinking of "Father Ted"
