Hi guys,

I had Rodney at the vets last Friday as he suddenly wasn't interested in eating & seemed to have drastically dropped weight.
She thought he may have a bladder issue as he seemed to squeak when she pushed on it so he's had a week of baytrill & she also have him a pain relief jab.

He's picked up a lot in the week, is interested in food altho is being picky about veg, and seemed perky.

Last night suddenly he seeks to have a bad leg & isn't using it as well. He's avoiding using it & seems wobbly.

I'm going to take him back today, I'm not sure if it's bladder or maybe he had a sore back leg anyway?! Would that have put him off eating?

It's possible that it would put him off his food if he was in pain, but it sounds like the leg problem has come on after the bladder issue, so it may be totally unrelated. I've had several pigs with sore legs for many reasons, most have just been bruising and have sorted themselves out quickly anyway, but you are right to pop in to see the vet to make sure.

Think previous vet got it wrong, when she felt his back end I think it was his leg he was unhappy about as it seems he actually has a bad ankle! It's either a sprain, ligament issue or a small fracture so he is home with medicine. Don't think it was the bladder at all now, think he was hiding the bad leg! He isn't dragging it, bad choice of words, he is holding it up & reluctant to use. Hopefully he will be more comfortable now he is on an anti inflammatory he came straight home & delved into some broccoli :)
