Dried food

I normally use the mixed Wagg food, but I tend to find that I am throwing out a fair bit every week. Out of my 16, i think 4 always eat it, but the others are always select feeding, now I have tried various nuggets before and they always turned their nose up to it, but now I just hate seeing the dried food wasted everyday, they do eat bits, but not a lot of it. I know they have hay and fresh veg everyday, but I still want to make sure they eat dried food everyday, but I just dont know what nuggets type food to try! Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
 
mine were fussy but loves pets at home nuggets but not the muesli - sorry if you've already tried this tho xx
 
Persevere with the nuggets. No healthy pig will starve themselves, so as cruel as it seems they will eventually try it.
 
I got lots of samples from pampered piggys. Maybe you could try them? I also got free samples off supreme the nuggets and off Burgess, I emailed both companies and they sent me a sample pack of there food. I'm also in the process of trying to find a nugget they like.
I had the following samples from pampered piggys:
Burgess, plain and flavoured.
Cavy cuisine
Supreme nuggets
Wagg nuggets
Bunny meadow feast, normal & herb.
I did pay £4.95 for postage from pampered piggys but also ordered my piggys some treat and toys too,its well worth it to have a few samples to see what they like.
From the Burgess they sent me the plain and the flavoured nuggets.

I was given a 15kg bag of gerty and since that's what my guys were on when I got them, I started using it, but I have begun mixing it with Burgess Excel Nuggets, planning to wean them off the Gerty altogether over time.

To start with they didn't think much of it but now they're eating the nuggets along with everything else.
 
Mine are on gerty too and I'm trying to get them to take to the burgess nuggets too! Its hard work as they keep leaving the nuggets, ive also got quite alot left from the 15kg sack of gerty so thought I would break them in gently. :)
 
I switched to Wagg Optimum ages ago from Gerty guinea pig. They love it! :)
 
Mine have a mixture of burgess excel, p@home nuggets and science selctive (yes I am a piggie slave) I weigh out a mixture into each bowl each day they also get a bowl of wagg museli too :)) Both science selective and burgess are available as free samples if you visit their websites! x x x
 
I feed my piggies unlimited hay and grass, with a selection of veggies each day. I only feed dry food occasionally. Since cutting the dry food to an absolute minimum I have noticed a huge change in my piggies. They appear far more healthy and active.
 
Mine are on Wagg Muesli & won't eat pellets - i tried almost every brand with no luck. Sorry Tracy but mine did starve themselves, every one of them lost weight & in the end i'd to try another muesli which was Wagg.

They do selectively feed but all leave different bits apart from Toddie n co - they eat every bit. :)

This was approx 2.5yrs ago & maybe now they would eat nuggets, i shall have to give them a whirl & see :)
