Now I know that Noah is only a baby, and I know babies can be a little mischievous but he is driving me nuts. When he is eating his piggy nuggets he will dig down in the dish with his nose and front paws and flick half of it out till he finds a piece he likes and eats it. Then we go through it all over again whenever he eats more! Sometimes it's flicked round the cage but more often than not out of the cage (so through bars!) and onto peoples heads when sitting on the nearby armchair or peoples drinks left too close.

I have to put back all the bits of food three or four times a day. Does anyone know why he might be doing this, or know of anyway I can get him to stop? Also, does anyone have a piggy who does this or is mine just a delinquent!

My Mum nearly cried when she found a piece in her warm mulled wine last night!

Hahaha - naughty noah!

Is there any way you can cover the mesh around where the bowl is so he at least can't flick them out of the hutch? Or move the position of the bowl. Could you try using a different shaped bowl/saucer to see if that helps?

It does make me laugh when they do that - what's the point when every nugget is the same!

I think it must be a boy thing, My Lilly used to do this when he was young, whatever was at the bottom was always his favourite, even though it was all exactly the same, and i once took in a young boar who we nick -named ASBO Pig, he used to bury right to the bottom and when he didn't find what he liked he would flip the dish over completely! :)) He went to his forever home but i still get to see him now and again and he no longer has a bowl, he has a handful of food scattered around the hay in his hutch

Cash does this but Tango doesnt, I guess its just a preference thing! The grass is always greener etc etc. Or the nuggets are always better....

Oh my gosh, I thought my Sid was the only one who did this! I got two new piggies on friday and Sid does axactly the same, even with veggies, hay and the bedding -_- hehe, I just put some extra mesh around and that seemed to stop it flicking everywhererolleyes
