Hi folks,
advice sought.
My Moccasin - a texel boar - seems to perpetually suffer drop-shoulder coat. He has been treated with Revolution, Ivermectin, Fido's Fre-itch concentrate...sometimes the coat thickens up a bit, grows a bit, then it thins out again.
I don't get it...any suggestions?

Interesting! How old is he, does he live alone, is it just the one area that is affected?
It could be self-inflcted or a companion is giving him a trim!

I suppose it could be partial barbering - possible self-inflicted.
He is about 12 months old, until today lived with at least one other boar (a bub who has gone to his new home today - Moccasin is my care-taker boar who looks after some of my rescue bubs for a short time...).
The coat loss it always around his shoulders through to his middle - being a texel, it makes him look like furry barbels! Fuzzy head, fuzzy butt but shorter hair around his middle. I will take some pics to post.
Is this normal? I have his brother and his mum who are perfect examples of texels, with no drop-shoulder coat - but one of his brothers that has been adopted out has suffered the same fate.
