Wednesday my travel took me past the house from where I redeemed Redemption, and it was a sobering sight - it is currently a burned-out shell. It had somehow been set afire shortly after I rescued Red from there. On rescue day, the woman who asked me if I wanted a "hamster" was also talking about why they were having a yard sale; she said they were going to demolish the house, to tear it down and use the property for something else. And now I drive by there, and it is burned out!

I am currently debating with myself whether to go talk to the fire chief about it. This may have been a controlled fire under the auspices of the fire department, and may have had a permit; such things are occasionally done around here. Then again, the woman was so stupid, she might have thought setting a fire was the way to go. I think I first need to see if anyone was hurt in the fire; if so, then the authorities will definitely be interested in what I have to say.

I am also thinking that maybe the children there that day were playing with matches or being otherwise irresponsible and unsupervised. I suppose I won't know until I ask. Then again, what's done is done, and if no one is hurt, do I want to end up in court as a witness, which is what will happen if arson was involved. . . .

Sounds like you got your little 'hamster' out just in time. I hope no-one was hurt and that it was all above board. I suspect if you hadnt got Red out of there ...... he wouldnt have survived..... :(

I'm very glad indeed you rescued Red.

It is suspicious when people talk of building again and then have a fire, but they don't seem particularly responsible people from what you've written before so perhaps it was simply an accident. I honestly don't know.

But I repeat I am so very glad you rescued Red. Thank God you stopped and looked when you did and saw the 'hamster'.

oh Red, will you ever know how lucky you really are.

What stupid people and the sad thing is, she had kids and they probably wont know any different either so will think its fine to neglect animals and set fire to your home etc grrrr

that makes me feel sick :...:...:...

Pat yeah a quick call and just ask if it was a control or a suspicious one...... i hate to think then what other 'hamster's' or other things may have burnt in that fire........ i just don't understand why or how people could do that...... it's just incomprehensible :(:(:(

sooooooooooooooo glad you got dear little Red out in time, THANKS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
