Hi, I adopted my black Guinea Pig about 3 years ago, from day one he had a slight head tilt.
I was away on holiday a few weeks ago and when I came back he was fine then a few days after I noticed he was sleeping a lot
He wasn't drinking much water and had stopped eating his nuggets, I kept a close eye on him and after a few days he was drinking and eating again but only green veg.
I have read up about them getting ear infections which can cause an imbalance but he was always looked slightly off balance from day one so I was used to him looking like that.
I was looking around in my area for a Cavy vet but there doesn't seem to be any around here. I am worried about taking him to my local vet as I had a Pig in the past that had problems and the medicine they gave him turned out to be a cat painkiller which resulted in him having to be put down, they claimed they had no previous experience with Guinea Pigs and worked with what they had.
Its since been a few weeks but when I get him out he looks happy in himself but he's running round as if he is drunk
I also own 4 other male pigs, they all live separately in different hutches as they don't get on and they have all been fine
Here's a link for a video I have just took
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
Matthew
