This can be the first sign of a fungal (ringworm) infection, but you will need a vet's confirmation as treating without know exactly what you are dealing with can cause your piggy further discomfort.
Thank you so much I will get this sorted as soon as possible.i have two guinea pigs and the other one doesn't show many signs of it however do they both need looking at.
Unfortunately fungal infections can be transferred to other animals and people - so a high level of hygiene and quarantine is required to contain the problem. There are several threads on fungal and ringworm which will give you lots of info, so if you could have a search and a read as I don't have the time just now to find them.
Once you have a vet's opinion we can target the advice given.
