Had Snickers out last night for a cuddle, and noticed her back feet seemed very dry. The best way to describe it was similar to my mum's psoriasis (sp) - dry, flaky skin than came off if you rubbed it, and it didn't hurt her to do this as she made no attempt to move or flinch.

I am fairly sure it isn't Bumblefoot as there are no lumps there whatsoever, it's just dry. JoJo had this problem when we first got him but it just sort of went away.

Is there any sort of moisturiser I can put on her feet at all?! Can guineas get eczma/psoriasis type conditions? And any ideas what may have caused it? She used to be on shavings at her old home and is now on shredded newspaper, though the latest batch is a bit rougher than before.

Thanks xx

Haven't tried it myself, but Thistle Cavies recommend it. Be a good idea to look at what bedding he is on to.

ETA, Perhaps try fleece or Vetbed. I should read full threads :)!

was gonna say that!¬ Ive been using it for a while on bilbos bumblefoot he seems to enjoy his foot massage!lol

Thanks both of you that's brilliant, I will order some. Was thinking of some E45 but didn't know if it was piggy safe!

I will keep an eye on the bedding, as I say it could have been the shavings she was on before but am not 100% happy with this paper bedding - might ask my friend if I can swap it for a bag of our usual soft stuff.

I love their lotions, they are brilliant i bought the one used for ears and its cleared her dry ears after 5days. xx>>>
