Maple Moo is at it again!

Today after giving her her eye drops I had a look over her skin as she's prone to dry skin due to her dermatitis.

I looked on her ear and came across something that made me go... Ooooooh Maple! Of course she looked all innocent.

Inside her ear flap - her ear was white and flaky and also a scab had formed where she had scratched at it. Her ear canal looked fine and scab free thankfully.

I put some gel that the vet had prescribed for her scabs she gets when she scratches at her skin but... Dry white flaky ear

Your thoughts?

It could just be dry skin, but it could also be fungal or even ear mites?

She's been treated for mites in the past - if it's fungal is it unusual to be just one ear?

... I'm at a loss with her sometimes always something new. She's my problem pig.

No it coud be one ear. What does the outside look like? does it have a kind of bloom to it? or tidemarks round the edge?

The outside ear is normal it's the inside which is all flaky

Oh that looks like fungal to me. Definitely need a vet trip.

looks like what chesney had and his turned out to be fungal (ringworm in his case). the vet took a little scraping and sent it to the lab. he had medicine to have and also we got cream to rub into his ear aswell. his was only the one ear aswell.

Looks fungal, Widget (foster Piggy) has just got over hers, we had to canestan cream inside the ear to clear it up. Let us know how you get on
