Junior Guinea Pig
Long story short, Jacob stopped eating, we got him to the vets asap and they found that there were compacted flakes from his dry food stuck to the roof of his mouth and around his molars, it took them 15 minutes to remove it all. His gums have ulcers so he is on antiobiotics and we are syringe feeding him.
I have always been a bit nervous about the small seeds in some of these feeds, they look like they could get stuck in a piggies throat but never imagined the large flakes could cause such a problem, Jacob loved them but that particular dry food has gone in the bin!
