I decided that with the big cage clean out today I would bath the piggies too. Mostly because Bumble still insists on sitting in her own filth staining her bottom and her belly a lovely shade of yellow :{ but also because they were all due a nail trim and I thought it would just be easier (and my word it was certainly easier to trim Bea's spurs afterwards.

I took the chance of soggy pigs to have a thorough check/feel of them and I noticed that Bumble has what appears to be dry patches of skin on the back of her ears. I also noticed Bea has a new little nick out of hers and a bit of a scab so wondered if it was possible for the "dry patches" to be from a bit of a dominance dance off or if it was likely to indicate a health issue such as mites? The skin isn't raised or lumpy it just looks like a bit of dry skin

Try a little sudocream rubbed in for a couple of days, my vet recommended this to me when i had a piggy with remenants of a fungal infection. Said its soothes and eases dried skin. I applied it once a day and within a week it had cleared up. If your worried theres any underlying issues take them to the vet, have you seen them shaking their head or scratching more then usual?

Well I know Bumble and Bea are prone to mites as they've suffered and been treated a couple of times but not actually seen any signs to indicate that they may have mites now so will keep a close eye on them. Will pick up some sudocrem tomorrow and give that a try and keep an eye out as can always get them to the vets if needs be
