I have noticed that Max's poo are quite dry - could this mean he is dehydrated?
 
hes a fusyy pig, doesnt like cucumber! we gave him water from the bottle last night but all in all he seems healthy.

I dont think its really anything to worry bout, i just wondered if anyone else had noticed in their piggies.
 
ahh,ok! I've not,but my girls will nibble on whatever we put in their cage! they get a whole cucumer between four once a week,or twice a week if its hot!
 
it could be also down to the food it'self being a bit drier than usual and his body may use up the water more than the other piggies little bodies. Especially if he is more active..:)p
 
he is a bit of a mad one, hes constantly squeeking and running and round and popcorning. he decided to climb up and down the stairs last week in an attempt to find Scruffy! silly pig!

that is so cute! i live in a flat so mine couldn't do that, but I'm sure Maggie-may would love to give it a go! :):<>;)

When you wash your veg try and keep alot of water on it when you feed him, he may get some more water that way
 
that's a good idea, i never thought to mention it. i do that with my piggies, they tend to lick all the water off as it tastes of the fruit or veg!

Try and give fruit/veg which has a lot of water in it like celery, small amount of kiwi, melon, etc.
 
How about a handful of lovely lush grass?
That might help.

PS. I am sure that it will have lots of moisture on it .... especially if your weather is anything like mine is here in Bristol today! rolleyes

last night i had max and scruffy out and i noticed max's poos are still really dry - so dry they crumbled into dust! even when he attempts to eat them they just split apart. They get plenty of watery veg and there are two bottles in the cage - they had even been on the grass all day 2 days before, i still dont think this is right?

dry poo could be a few things.a.dehydraion-are there fewer than normal and does he struggle to pass them? b.is it humid which can dry the poos after defecation
c.is the piggy being fed more concentrated fibourous foods such as hay and pellets then normally fed?.
Make sure a supply of fresh water(I'm sure you do) try to feed moist foods and dont have temp of room to high or in high temps like neer a hot window sill
 
thanks Guys, Jess, well hes on the same as his brother, i make everything equal, i think hes just a strange piggy! lol Hedoesnt seem to have problem passing, maybe its just his type of poos!

I will keep an eye on what he is eating, drinking etc and study his poos! lol,
