Dry skin or bumblefoot?

Today I noticed Marty has an area of hard dry reddish skin on the base of his front paw, it doesn't look like any pics I've seen of bumblefoot but am worried it could be the start of it.
He is recovering from a broken leg (not the same one as the foot thing) so his mobility has obviously decreased. I change his bedding every other day - he was on towels and fleece for the first two weeks post op but is on paper and hay now.
Any ideas anyone? :{
 
Any chance of a photo? However like most things, if your concerned and especially with a recent broken bone, trip to the vets wouldn't hurt.
 
am trying to upload photo - not the most techincal person! rolleyes Yep think vets would be good idea anyway .
