Hi everyone,

I got Buddy couple months ago. He is currently having some skin problem. I've attached the pictures.

If anyone would be able to shed some light on this problem before I bring him to the vet it would be much appreciated!

I'm sorry I don't know what that could be but I hope he gets well soon :(.....is he a skinny pig? I heard skinny pigs can be more likely to get skin problems

It looks like he needs some moisturizer... but otherwise, I'm sorry, I can't help you. Take him to your vet, and see what they suggest.

Please see your vet, like @Dindypig said, you want to rule out fungal or (less likely) mange mites. Please be aware that lab test are usually only for ringworm and don't test for other forms of fungal.

If the vet rules out fungal or mange mites and it is just dry skin, then I can recommend a product for skinnies. Don't want to post it yet in case it is fungal as it is not a good idea to cover fungal in anything remotely oily.

One thing I will mention though, is that my skinny had what we thought was fungal but when a skin scrape was taken and examined under the microscope, there was a squished mite, so skinnies don't always present the same way symptom wise as hairy pigs.

Thanks for everyone's reply! Will keep you guys posted about his trip to the vet!
