Dry skin?

One of my guinea pigs has a spot on the back oh his neck that is a patch of dry skin. He keeps scratching it which causes it to spread. Not sure if it’s ezema or dry skin. I’m going to end up taking him to the vet soon just Incase. But I was wondering what to do in the mean time.

Sounds like a fungal infection to me as you have said he is scratching it and it's spreading. Make sure you follow strict hygiene rules as it is contagious. I wouldn't put anything on it until the vet has been able to have a look because it could make it more difficult for the vet to diagnose and prescribe the right treatment
