My guinea pig poppy has these weird dry spots on her ear and on the bottom of her foot. Idk if it's the start of ring worm or eczema. About 3 weeks ago we took her to the vet because she has been weezeing and sneezing. The vet said she was fine but gave her antibiotics for a upper respiratory infection. She finished the meds about a week ago and the other day I was clipping her nails when I noticed the dry spot so I started doing a health check to see if it was any where else and that's when I noticed it on her ear. Idk what it is but her baby did just got over ring worn a couple of months ago so Idk if I missed some thing or if it's something less serious

Hi and welcome!

Please respect that on this forum we do not support home treating on spec and ask our member to please seek veterinary care if any doubt because we cannot diagnose reliably without a hands-on diagnosis, nor is any member a qualified vet - and by UK law, only a qualified vet is allowed to diagnose and treat after seeing a guinea pig.
Health and Illness - Important Information

You are welcome to post your support and any personal experiences on specific case but please do not throw any 'cures' into the round that you have no personal experience with or knowledge of their appropriateness. We try our best to not be one of the many 'free for all' online places. What you are citing will not cure any fungal skin infection.

This section is specifically monitored by members whose knowledge and experience we fully trust. They have a special badge in their signature.

Hi and welcome!

Unfortunately, the picture of the ear is not clear enough to even guess. If in doubt, please see a vet.
Apart from ringworm, there are a number of other milder fungal skin infections that thrive in warm and humid conditions. But of course if you have had a recent ringworm outbreak, then that is an important consideration. All it takes is one single invisible spore; and ringworm spores can stay live for around 18 months or even longer.

The foot is rather looking like dry skin and not like fungal.

You could try E45 or something like that while you wait for a vets appointment. It maybe she's got ringworm from the baby the will be the best bet in helping her.

Where can I find E45

Any unperfumed nappy cream will do as long as you apply any cream only VERY VERY thinly to prevent it from drying out the skin even further.
Please do not overtreat feet; it can soften them too much and make them vulnerable to little injuries, scratches and infections.

Ok I'll try that then
