I am happy to say that @Flutterby's little foster baby has embraced her new family, and especially her huge new daddy boar Pioden with so much joy that she never noticed her mother leaving. Dryw definitely has a playful and even mischievous side!

Here is a video from a play session on the first evening with 5 years old Pioden, who has to learn how to get fit quickly! :D

And here is her first breakfast with her new family consisting of 5 years old Pioden and nearly 8 years old frail Hedydd, the last surviving of Pioden's four wives. Dryw is not old enough to challenge Hedydd and as Pioden is very gentle and careful with her and she is far too agile for him, his size is not an issue for her.

In mood for some furry popping popcorn? Here is Dryw before she discovers that she can leave the cage...
@Flutterby

If you can watch this without a silly smile plastered all over your face, you must be inhuman! :)

Such boundless energy and joy. Wow she can jump. It’s so lovely to watch.

What a brave little thing she is running around outside the cage. They look so lovely together, little and large.

She is amazing, so confident! Pioden is such a good dad-boar!

He is definitely one in the face for anybody who thinks that a large boar will harm babies in any way...

It is really lovely to see how gentle he is with Dryw, and also how much more vocal and playful he has become since her arrival. Her first season is going to be likely somewhat dramatic, though! But even then the older ones are doing their best to reassure any youngsters and try to be as gentle and careful as possible.
