Does anyone know how much you get in a bale of dust free hay please and what sort should I get for the guinea's? There's two types, I just want to make sure it's nice for them and it wears their teeth down.

Looking to change supplier as I keep getting bad bags of hay, when I tell them they try telling me it's course hay, no it's not, it's hay with sticks in it, it doesn't even resemble hay and the latest batch was bitty, dusty and the length of the hay was short, my guinea's are not overly keen on it and yet I asked before hand what the hay was like before I ordered and they said it was lovely and green...

If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to post them. I have 9 guinea pigs so I'm looking to buy in bulk if possible. I would love to buy the oxbow hay but it's too expensive for me sadly.

I'm currently using Lunnun which is "seconds" from the Dust-Free Hay company. It's long-ish, and a mix of yellow and green. It's reasonably popular with my lot, though they prefer Ings. I'm still searching for green, long, sweet-smelling hay -- Oxbow Orchard and Timothy is my next bet. It'll be a while until I try anything else, I have ~16kg of the Lunnun (which at £26 isn't a bad price).

The website says there's 3-4 small bales in the big one. And the small bales are about 2-2.5kg each.

I buy pillow wad meadow hay from a local supplier at £2.99 per bale (although I'm sure they do it on the internet) and i find it is extremely good. its sold in 2.25 kg bales which i realize isnt bulk but there you are. i have a sensitive pig so i have to buy very dust free stuff and she seems to be getting along fine with it, sometimes it can be a little inconsistent but they are never horrible. i am also interested in the 'dust free hay' ones so if you do buy it i would be interested to hear what you think of it :)
