Oh my goodness- the baby pics especially just about killed me with cuteness! I've got no experience to draw on, but hope your little guy does well and has a wonderful life, even if it does end up being shorter than average- and of course I hope he goes to live a full happy span! He may be tiny, but he's totally gorgeous!

He is a cutie... :))
I was well shocked though... Didn't think he was going to be long haired... :)) then literally over night he just got all this long floofy hair... :))

I'm sure it can happen with out inbreeding... Much like you can get a hairless guinea pig from two roans apparently... But I would be shocked if in wilfreds case it isn't inbreeding related... As they were seriously inbred... mallethead

sorry? hairless from two roans? where did you hear that?

two roans bred together can only produce very very very lucky roan babies, or 'lethals' (micropthalmic)...

Only pigs with the 'skinny' gene can produce hairless babies...it is possible to have a roan who also carries the skinny gene ( mallethead silly people thinking it'd be 'interesting' to breed them)...but two roans without this gene will not produce hairless babies.

I was pretty sure that with roans you either got dead babies... Lethal babies or a very slim chance of a hairless Gp... Originally where skinnies came from...
I'm not up on my genetics... Not really interested in them being as I rescue I have no need past understanding roan/Dalmatian lethals...
Dunno where I got that from then... :))
Genuinely thought that was how skinny's originated... :)) lol...
Ah well... Save that for another thread then...

I rescued one a couple of years ago and called her Dink. She sadly didnt live more than 5 months. in that time she acted normally, eating, drinking etc

I was very sad to see her go.

Here's to your lad living a much longer life.

He's so tiny! I had a little piggy, Ringo, who was much smaller than his brother Freddie, but I don't think he was that small.

An interesting case! I've heard of dwarf cats, but not dwarf piggies.

Wish him all the best!
