Adult Guinea Pig
I have owned guinea pigs for 17 years and I have to say that each and every one of my piggies has a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately, I have lost three adult piggies since April ... all though different problems and old age but my shed feels empty. I only owned 8 piggies until I adopted Princess and Panda, and then along came Junior's birth totally unexpected.
Fizz who was 4 years old when she died in April and I had her since her birth.
Rikkyboy who was about 4 and a half years old when he passed away and I owned him since he was approx 6 weeks old.
Holly would have been 6 years old in October and I have owned her since December 2002 when she was 6/8 weeks old. I had her put to sleep today.
Joey, my five year old boar, is very poorly.
It just seems everything is happening at once!
Over the 17 years I have learnt alot about guinea pigs personalities, feeding, housing and illnesses. But I have to say each piggy that I have ever cared for and owned has left a paw-print on my heart.
I have loved them all to bits. I am so sad when they pass away but know in my heart that I have loved them, looked after them and given them the best possible life they could have ever had.
